HALLOSUMEDANG – The seriousness of the Sumedang Regency Government in developing the Geopark Lembah Cisaar Jatigede area is evidenced by the upcoming soft launching scheduled for next Tuesday (19/3/2024), coinciding with the soft launching of Sumedang City Branding.
This was revealed by the Acting Secretary of Sumedang Regency, Mrs. Tuti Ruswati, while leading a meeting in the Secretary’s Meeting Room on Friday (15/3/2024).
“We plan to invite the Acting Governor for the soft launching related to the realization plan of the Geopark and City Branding in Sumedang Regency,” she said.
Tuti explained that in Sumedang, several ancient heritage assets have been found, which will be consolidated into one geopark area. Therefore, in 2025, the local government will focus on designing special funding for public facilities and social facilities.
“We are currently working on how to materialize the geopark so we designate it first at the district level. And we plan to propose it at the provincial, national, and even international levels,” she explained.
With the presence of the Geopark area, it is hoped that Jatigede will become a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) for Tourism based on its uniqueness, which will add a special appeal for tourists to visit Sumedang.
“This is expected to become a draw and competitiveness for Sumedang Regency in the Eastern region, which will boost tourism in Sumedang Regency,” she concluded.
