HALLOSUMEDANG – Acting Regent of Sumedang, Yudia Ramli, warmly welcomed a courtesy visit from the Sumedang District BPJS Kesehatan officials at his office. The meeting served as a platform for important discussions regarding the achievements and challenges of the National Health Insurance (JKN) program in Sumedang Regency.

During the meeting, it was revealed that JKN participation in Sumedang had reached 95.17 percent by May 2024. This achievement is the result of a long process and the hard work of all parties involved.

“This shows that Universal Health Coverage (UHC) in Sumedang is quite high,” said Yudia Ramli proudly.

However, the active participation rate of JKN participants remains a major concern. Therefore, the local government, together with BPJS Kesehatan, is committed to increasing the active participation of participants.

The target is to reach 98 percent participation with an active participation rate of over 75 percent by the end of 2024.

Efforts to increase the active participation of JKN participants will be accompanied by an improvement in the quality of health services.

“We need to improve the competence of health workers, complete facilities and infrastructure, and add facilities and types of services in health centers and hospitals,” said Yudia Ramli.

In addition, BPJS Kesehatan is also expected to increase participation coverage, especially from the Mandiri segment.

The local government has shown its commitment by adding a budget to the 2024 APBD to increase participation from Contribution Assistance Recipients (PBI).

This courtesy meeting serves as an important momentum in strengthening the synergy between the local government and BPJS Kesehatan to realize quality universal health coverage for all Sumedang residents.
