HALLOSUMEDANG – A city known for its natural beauty, is now also radiating its charm through creative economy and culture. The Department of Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Sports (Disparbudpora) of Sumedang Regency, through the Creative Economy Division, held the vibrant 2024 Creative Economy Arts Market at the Sumedang Creative Center (SCC) building.
The three-day event, from June 20th to 22nd, 2024, marks the 2nd anniversary of SCC and the 78th anniversary of Bhayangkara. The Acting Regent of Sumedang, Yudia Ramli, officially opened the event, which was filled with various exciting activities such as a creative product bazaar, an exhibition of innovative works from the Sumedang Creative Economy Community (Ekraf), and art performances that blend tradition and modernity.
The Head of Disparbudpora Sumedang, Nandang Suparman, explained that this Creative Economy Arts Market is a concrete step in developing the creative economy sub-sector in Sumedang.
“We hope this event can be a catalyst in increasing sales, marketing, and promotion of Sumedang’s creative economy products,” he said.
Acting Regent Yudia Ramli welcomed this initiative and saw it as a golden opportunity to introduce the richness of Sumedang’s culture to a wider audience.
“In addition to encouraging the growth of the creative economy, this event is also a promotional event for Sumedang tourism, which is rich in arts and culture,” said Yudia.
The SCC building itself is tangible proof of the government’s commitment to supporting the development of arts, culture, and the creative economy in Sumedang.
Yudia emphasized that the Sumedang Regency Government will continue to provide space and support for arts and culture practitioners and creative economy players to continue to innovate and create.
“Let’s make Sumedang a destination that is not only captivating with its natural beauty but also rich in diverse and inspiring arts and culture,” Yudia invited all Sumedang residents.
