HALLOSUMEDANG – The Sumedang Regency Government has disbursed financial aid to Political Parties (Parpol) for the Fiscal Year 2024. Financial assistance has been granted to eight Parpols that secured seats in the Regional Representative Council (DPRD) of Sumedang Regency. The total aid provided amounts to Rp.1,236,328,000, intended to support the operational needs of each political party.
The aid was handed over directly by the Acting Regent of Sumedang, Herman Suryatman, accompanied by the Head of the Kesbangpol Agency, Asep Tatang Sujana, to representatives of each political party, marked by the signing of a Handover Report, in the Central Hall of the State Building, on Tuesday (26-3-2024).
The Acting Regent stated that the Sumedang Regency Government agrees with the Parpols to enhance the role of political parties, both in political education and in capturing the aspirations of the community.
“Political parties agree with the Sumedang Regency Government, facilitated by Bakesbangpol, to enhance the role of political parties, whether in political education or in capturing and articulating the aspirations of the community, even aggregating them according to the functions of political parties,” he said.
According to Acting Regent Herman, with the cool functions of political parties, it is hoped that it will have an impact on the political structure in the legislative body, including later in the government.
“Hopefully, the quality of the political process in Sumedang Regency will be much better,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Kesbangpol Agency, Asep Tatang Sujana, stated that the disbursement of financial aid to political parties is part of the government’s attention in accordance with the mandate of the Law. The assistance provided this year is different from previous years; if it used to be given all at once, then for this year, it is divided into two phases.
“The first phase is until the term of office of the outgoing DPRD members until August, and then until the end of the year. This is related to the tenure of the outgoing DPRD members,” he explained.
