HALLOSUMEDANG – Sumedang demonstrates its commitment to eradicating corruption through impressive achievements in the Corruption Eradication Commission’s (KPK) Monitoring Center for Prevention (MCP). The MCP, an instrument to monitor corruption prevention efforts in regions, recorded Sumedang’s average score at 91 percent, placing it 4th in West Java and 79th nationally.

The Acting Regent of Sumedang, Yudia Ramli, proudly stated, “This achievement reflects our commitment to creating a better government.” This statement was made in the presence of the KPK observation team led by the Acting Director of Public Participation Development at KPK, Andhika Widiarto, at the Tampomas PPS Hall, Wednesday (31/7/2024).

The KPK team’s visit is part of the 2024 Pilot Program Observation for Anti-Corruption Regencies and Cities, where Sumedang is selected as a candidate pilot regency.

Yudia Ramli is optimistic, “This is an opportunity for us to continuously improve performance and public services in accordance with applicable regulations. We believe that with collaboration between the government, society, and various parties, Sumedang can become a role model for other regions in realizing a clean and corruption-free Indonesia.”

The Inspector of West Java Province, Eni Rohyani, explained that the KPK entrusted West Java to propose three regions for observation.

“Observation has been conducted in Bandung Regency, today in Sumedang, and tomorrow in Bogor City. The selection of these three regions is based on careful consideration and complete KPK data regarding anti-corruption efforts in all regions,” she said.

Eni Rohyani highlighted Sumedang’s great potential in becoming a pilot anti-corruption regency, supported by its high MCP score, good integrity assessment, and Government Internal Control System (SPIP) reaching level four.

Andhika Widiarto, Acting Director of Public Participation Development at KPK, explained that this observation is conducted in 12 provinces in Indonesia.

The observation team examines various aspects, including MCP data, SAKIP, LAKIP, SPI, Integrity Zone, Unqualified Opinion (WTP) from the Audit Board of Indonesia (BPK), and records of corruption cases involving regional heads or Heads of OPD in the last three years.

“Sumedang is clear of such records. We hope Sumedang can be selected, although only one regency/city from each province will be determined,” he concluded.
