Sumedang Grabs Attention at Jabar MTQ’s Pawai Ta’aruf

As the grand Musabaqah Tilawatil Quran (MTQ) ke-38 Jawa Barat (Jabar MTQ 38th) commenced, the Kafilah (delegation) from Sumedang Regency took the center stage, captivating the audience with a mesmerizing performance of Kuda Renggong, a traditional Sundanese horse art, during the Pawai Ta’aruf (Opening Parade) held at Meikarta Central Park Lippo, Cikarang, Bekasi Regency, on Sunday (28/4/2024).

Led by Plh Sekda Tuti Ruswati, the Head of LPTQ (Lembaga Pengembangan Tilawatil Quran) Sumedang Regency, Kafilah Sumedang exuded confidence as they marched along the parade route, their performance adding a touch of cultural vibrancy to the already electrifying atmosphere. The parade also featured captivating performances from other regions, showcasing the diverse cultural heritage of West Java.

The opening ceremony of MTQ ke-38 Jabar was marked by the raising of the LPTQ flag by Plh. Asda (Assistant Secretary) for Governance of Jabar Provincial Government, signifying the official commencement of this grand event.

Pj. Bupati Sumedang Hopes for Kafilah Sumedang’s Success and Promotion of Islam

Pj. (Acting) Bupati (Regent) of Sumedang, Yudia Ramli, who graced the opening ceremony, extended his warm wishes to Kafilah Sumedang, expressing his hope that the Sumedang representatives would deliver their best performances and achieve outstanding results.

Going beyond the competition aspect, Pj. Bupati Sumedang emphasized that MTQ also plays a pivotal role in promoting Islamic values in West Java, particularly in Sumedang Regency. He hoped that the values of the Quran would serve as a guiding light for the younger generation in shaping their character and morals.

A total of 45 participants from Kafilah Sumedang are ready to compete in 17 branches during MTQ ke-38 Jabar. The branches include:

  • Qiro’at sab’ah mujawwad dewasa putra/putri (Advanced Quran Recitation with Tajwid for adults)
  • Qiro’at sab’ah murotal remaja putri (Advanced Quran Recitation for female teenagers)
  • Qiro’at sab’ah murotal dewasa putra (Advanced Quran Recitation for adult men)
  • MHQ 1 juz dan tilawah putra/putri (Memorization and Recitation of 1 Juz of the Quran for men and women)
  • MHQ 5 juz dan tilawah putra/putri (Memorization and Recitation of 5 Juz of the Quran for men and women)
  • MHQ 10 juz putra/putri (Memorization and Recitation of 10 Juz of the Quran for men and women)
  • MHQ 20 juz putra/putri (Memorization and Recitation of 20 Juz of the Quran for men and women)
