Sumedang Acting Regent Inaugurates PUSPA Forum for Women and Children’s Welfare

HALLOSUMEDANG – The Acting Regent of Sumedang, Yudia Ramli, today inaugurated the Public Participation Forum for Women and Children’s Welfare (PUSPA) of Sumedang Regency for the 2024-2027 term. The inauguration took place at the PKK Sumedang Building Hall, with Ani Gestaviani, Head of the Office of Population Control, Family Planning, Women’s Empowerment, and Child Protection (DPPKBP3A), as the elected chairperson.

The PUSPA Forum, established based on the Regulation of the Minister of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection Number 13 of 2021, aims to increase public participation in women’s empowerment and child protection. In his remarks, Acting Regent Yudia emphasized the importance of the community’s role in achieving gender equality, protecting women’s rights, and providing special protection for children.

“The PUSPA Forum is expected to synergize with various related parties to implement programs that support the local government, especially in overcoming stunting, extreme poverty, improving women’s economy, and protecting children in Sumedang,” said Yudia.

The Chairperson of the PUSPA Forum, Ani Gestaviani, expressed her readiness to immediately form a management team and work plan. She also plans to establish PUSPA Forums at the sub-district and village levels.

“The presence of the PUSPA Forum is a new hope for women and children in Sumedang. We are committed to ensuring that every woman and child receives their rights, as well as increasing the capacity of women to be more resilient and independent,” said Ani.
