Commemorating the Sacrifice of the Wolf Brigade Heroes

HALLOSUMEDANG – The Commander of Kodim 0610/Sumedang, Lieutenant Colonel Kav Christian Gordon M.Si (Han), attended a ceremony commemorating and honoring the sacrifice of 7 members of the Wolf Brigade on March 23, 1949, in Margapala Hamlet, Margalaksana Village, South Sumedang District, Sumedang Regency. Saturday (23/03/2024).

This pilgrimage is held as a form of tribute and respect to the 7 members of the Wolf Brigade who sacrificed their lives in the struggle for the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia.

During the event, the Commander of Kodim 0610/Sumedang expressed that the pilgrimage and flower-laying ceremony are tangible expressions of honoring the struggle and sacrifice made by the 7 members of the Wolf Brigade.

“It is only fitting for us, as the next generation, to contribute to the development and continue the struggle to uphold the sovereignty of the Republic of Indonesia, while not forgetting the heroes of our nation’s past,” explained the Dandim.

A great nation is one that values the contributions of its heroes on every occasion.

“The implementation of this activity is not only to pay homage and lay flowers at the graves of the 7 members of the Wolf Brigade, but it is also hoped to serve as a reflection for future generations,” concluded the Dandim.

The event was attended by the Commander of Kodim 0610/Sumedang, Lieutenant Colonel Kav Christian Gordon M.Si (Han), the Chairman of LVRI Sumedang, Retired Major Sutrisno, along with 50 members, the Danramil 1001/North Sumedang Captain Caj Yayat and members, the Head of Margalaksana Village, Mrs. Euis Mulyati, and village officials, the Chairman of LVRI Veterans, Mr. Endoy, and 50 members, and the Secretary of PPM Sumedang District, Mr. Cecep Yanyan, along with 20 members.
