HALLOSUMEDANG – Sumedang Regency is ready to step on the gas pedal to achieve robust food security. As evidence, the Sumedang Regency Government has established strong synergy with the Sumedang Police, triggered by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Agriculture and the Police regarding food security.
“This MoU is a joint commitment to accelerate the food security program in Sumedang,” said Acting Secretary Tuti Ruswati in a webinar at the Sumedang Police Command Center Room, Thursday (4/25/2024).
As an initial step, the Sumedang Regency Government has launched an innovative program called Satu Hektar Buruh Tani Bangkit (STARBAK). This program is ambitiously targeted to expand the land area to ten hectares.
“Expanding this land area requires large resources and multi-party collaboration,” explained Tuti.
Furthermore, Tuti expressed great hope for this program. “The goal is none other than to increase food security and the welfare of farmers in Sumedang. We want the villages in Sumedang to become locomotives for food productivity,” she said.
Previously, in the STARBAK program, the Sumedang Regency Government had also collaborated with the TNI (Indonesian Military). “With the strong synergy between the Local Government, TNI, and Polri, I am confident that Sumedang’s food security will be even more secure,” she emphasized.
This multi-party collaboration signifies Sumedang’s strong commitment to realizing its vision and mission of robust and sustainable food security. This synergy is expected to have a positive impact on the welfare of the Sumedang community, especially the farmers.
