HALLOSUMEDANG – Acting Regent of Sumedang, Yudia Ramli, has demonstrated his commitment to advancing tourism in Sumedang Regency. One of his steps is to encourage Mekar Rahayu Village in Sumedang Selatan District to become a Tourism Village.
“Mekar Rahayu Village has extraordinary tourism potential with its enchanting natural wealth. I am confident that this village can become an attractive tourist destination and bring benefits to the community,” said Yudia Ramli when inaugurating the Grape Garden Tourism in Mekar Rahayu Village, Saturday (20/7/2024).
Yudia believes that developing Mekar Rahayu Village as a Tourism Village will have a positive impact on the economy and welfare of the local community. This can be achieved by increasing tourist visits, opening up new business opportunities, and strengthening the local economy.
“Let’s work together to build Mekar Rahayu Village into an attractive tourist destination,” Yudia invited. “I appreciate the people of Mekar Rahayu Village who have been involved in developing this tourism.”
The Head of Mekar Rahayu Village, Asep Suherman, said that his village is currently in the process of developing as a Tourism Village. The village offers various tours, from grape, orange, and durian garden tours, to Puncak Rahayu selfie tours and Geger Hanjuang Site religious tours, which was once the capital of Sumedang Larang.
“We are currently completing the requirements as a tourist village, including compiling and completing evidence related to compliance with the spatial planning and disaster mitigation,” explained Asep.
