HALLOSUMEDANG – Driven by a sense of empathy for his fellow villagers, Sertu Cecep Rahmat, the Babinsa (Village Liaison Officer) of Kebon Kalapa Village, joined forces with the community to renovate the dilapidated house of Ibu Yaya.
The Rumah Tidak Layak Huni (Rutilahu) program, which aims to address substandard housing conditions, was the driving force behind this initiative. The renovation efforts took place on Monday, July 22, 2024, in Dusun Kebon Kalapa Rt 01 RW 03, Kebon Kalapa Village, Cisarua District, Sumedang Regency.
Sertu Cecep Rahmat and the villagers worked hand-in-hand to dismantle Ibu Yaya’s old house and transport hebel materials for the construction of the new one. The hope is that through this Rutilahu program, a sense of care and camaraderie among the villagers of Kebon Kalapa, in particular, will be further strengthened.
Additionally, this program serves as an effective means of fostering communication and social interaction (Komsos) between the TNI (Indonesian National Armed Forces) and the community in the area they serve.
Ibu Yaya, the homeowner, was overwhelmed with gratitude and expressed her heartfelt appreciation to Babinsa Sertu Cecep Rahmat and all the villagers who had lent a helping hand in renovating her home.
“I am deeply grateful to the Babinsa and the villagers who have helped me with my house,” Ibu Yaya remarked.
This community work project stands as a testament to the genuine concern and collaborative spirit among the villagers in their endeavor to create a more comfortable and livable environment for all.
